The plain version
What hydro jetting is
Hydro jetting cleans a drain or sewer line with water at pressures measured in the thousands of PSI, delivered through a nozzle that pulls itself down the pipe while jets scour backward against the pipe wall. It cuts root masses, emulsifies grease, and strips years of scale down to the original diameter.
The distinction that matters: a cable machine bores a passage through a blockage, which restores flow but leaves the buildup that caused it. Jetting removes the buildup itself. That is why a jetted line stays clear so much longer — the clog lost its foundation.

When you need it
Any one of these is reason enough to have the line looked at.
- The same line clogs again within months of being snaked
- Kitchen drainage is slow from decades of accumulated grease
- Camera footage shows heavy scale or sediment along the pipe wall
- Roots regrow quickly after every cable cut
- A commercial kitchen line that cabling no longer keeps ahead of

How the job runs
Camera before pressure
Jetting is powerful, and power belongs in sound pipe. We look first — a badly fractured line gets a different plan, not a firehose.
Match nozzle to problem
Root-cutting, grease, and general-purpose nozzles do different work. The buildup on the footage picks the tool.
Jet the full run
The nozzle works from the cleanout down the line, scouring the full circumference as it retrieves — not just the spot that clogged.
Show you the wall
The after-footage shows bare pipe wall where the buildup was. That before-and-after pair is the receipt.
Money, plainly
What it costs
Jetting costs more than a basic cable clearing and does categorically more work. Line length, the severity of buildup, and access drive the price — a maintenance jet on a line cleaned two years ago runs lighter than a first-time cleanout of thirty years of grease.
Measure it against the pattern it replaces: if you have paid for the same snake job three times in two years, the math usually favors cleaning the pipe once and breaking the cycle.
Why Rooter-X for this
We size the jetting to the pipe in front of us — pressure and nozzle chosen from the camera footage, not a one-setting-fits-all pass.
Every jetting includes the after-camera. If the wall is not clean, we are not done, and you can see the difference rather than take it on faith.

Questions we hear
Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?
In structurally sound pipe, yes — the water scours buildup, not pipe material. In a line that is already cracked or badly deteriorated, high pressure is the wrong tool, which is exactly why we camera first. If your pipe cannot take jetting, you will know before it happens, along with what we recommend instead.
How is this different from a snake or rooter service?
A cable machine cuts a passage through the blockage and leaves residue on the walls, where the next clog starts growing immediately. Jetting strips the walls themselves. Cable answers an emergency fast; jetting resets the pipe. They are complements, not competitors.
How long does a jetted line stay clean?
Longer than any cable clearing, because regrowth has to restart from bare wall. The exact horizon depends on the source — a root-prone line still has roots outside seeking a way in, and a restaurant kitchen keeps producing grease. The after-footage gives us an honest baseline for predicting it.
Can jetting remove tree roots?
Root-cutting nozzles handle substantial intrusions, and jetting flushes the cut material out of the line rather than leaving it to snag the next flush. What jetting cannot do is close the joint the roots came through — for that, we will show you the entry point and talk about lining or a spot repair.
Why do you insist on the camera first?
Two reasons. Safety: pressure belongs in pipe that can take it. Effectiveness: the nozzle and approach depend on whether the problem is roots, grease, or scale. Thirty minutes of looking makes the jetting both safer and better.
